Baled out!

On a bit of a roll now with truck load of clay yesterday and a truck load of straw bales today. A fantastic time for a band of willing helpers to turn up. Too bad it was just the two of us  today plus Chris our straw supplier and truck driver in the morning.
The day was almost perfect in the morning with a bit of fog keeping the sun at bay while the truck was unloaded.
Chris reckons he had his three hundred bales and it certainly felt like it as the day wore on...and on. We couldn't seem to down enough water after the fog burnt off and the sweat really started. The bales today are about a third of what I have estimated for this project and I can't wait for the rest. Sorry I meant I can't wait for a rest.
With 1/3 third stuffed under the roof I'm questioning my arithmetic a bit as it seems to be taking up a bit more room than I thought but, somehow, it will all get jammed in under cover.
Still it's brilliant to get to this stage and we're looking and feeling less disgusting after a shower (I think I looked less disgusting but others may disagree). Anyhow below is a few progress pics.

A truck load of kaolin clay and my recalcitrant jeep smugly refusing to turn over.. ah well just another job to do.

Cause and effect step 1. Dogs lick man.
Cause and effect stage 2. Man recoils from sliming and promptly strikes head on beam. Dogs work is done.

And yours truly picking them up. Note lovely mist.
